My preferred options trading brokers are Thinkorswim and Tastyworks. Each one has different features and benefits but I review the details below. Signing up for an account through my referral link ensures you get the same commissions and features I enjoy.

Thinkorswim has long been my main broker since 2009. Highly useful platform and mobile app for entering orders and setting price alerts. Charting and custom scripts are very flexible. Options Chains and analytics are fantastic when trying to understand risk based on the greeks of a trade. Every part of the software platform is customizable. I enjoy using the Scan and Watchlist features to speed up my workflow when reviewing new trade setups. The active trader ladder is a great tool for day traders and using the theoretical price feature to estimate where an option trade might be based on the stock movement is fantastic for setting entry/exit orders. To sign up for Thinkorswim through my link, send me an email or message with your name and email address and I will send you the link!

Tastyworks is a newer up and coming options broker that I have been enjoying using since 2020. I think its always important to have at least two brokerage accounts. Even if one is for short term trading and the other more focused on longer term swing trades or investments. Tasty is kind of a light version of TOS as it was created by the same group of traders. The commissions are among the lowest in the industry and their capped rates of $10 for large lot trades are great for bigger traders who trade size. New features are always being added to each upgrade of the software and I have been impressed at the order execution speed while using the platform. They also have a great mobile app and web version of the software. Use my referral link below to sign up for a Tastyworks account!
